St Andrews PE Plan 2013-2016

Tag rugby Sunday 16th October

Well done to all those children who took part in the Tag Rugby tournament at Thornbury Rugby club on Sunday. It was good to see so many children turn up and play demonstrating the good skill they have developed over the last term and for some during the last year.

There was a good atmosphere with St Andrew’s children showing a good sense of team work while trying hard to win and having fun at the same time.

A big “Thank You” to Dr Brice for coaching and organising the children on the day. Also for all his hard work and commitment throughout the year. It is greatly appreciated!

PE and Sport 2015-16

All the children will continue to receive tennis coaching for this term on a Tuesday afternoon. On Fridays, the rugby coaching programme will continue, which covers all the skills of running, catching, scoring, tagging and passing. Fully qualified RFU coaches will deliver the training. Later in the year, this will change to football and cricket.

It is important to remind you that all children must have named PE kit in school every day. As the weather gets colder PE kit should include tracksuit bottoms/top.

All children are expected to participate in PE sessions unless the class teacher is provided with a written note.

Swimming will not start until after February half term 2016

Well done

Congratulations to the Year 5/6 football team for their excellent performance in a recent small schools tournament.

They worked well as a team encouraging each other and doing their very best. Mrs Davies was particularly proud of their excellent behaviour & positive attitudes throughout the tournament.

Also a big thank you to Mr Leeds for helping out
