Our vision (Intent)
At St Andrew’s CE Primary School, we provide a high-quality art and design curriculum that develops creativity and challenge; engages and inspires pupils, equipping them with the knowledge, skills and resilience to explore and experiment, invent, create and evaluate works and tackle artistic challenges, now and in the future.
Aims;
We aim that all pupils will:
- Generate ideas through developing processes and regular practice with sketch books.
- Become confident in using a variety of skills and techniques and apply them to their own art and craft.
- Develop their techniques through a range of processes and use of materials, increasingly being able to select which materials to use to produce a finished piece.
- Learn about a range of great artists, craft makers and designers and their work and understand the historical and cultural development of their art form.
- Use the correct art vocabulary and language to evaluate, think critically and reflect on their own work and that of other artists.
